1. Definition of a donation

A donation is a voluntary contribution made to Stichting Dataout. This may include:

• Financial donations made by transferring funds directly to our bank account or via third-party services (PayPal, bunq, and Patreon);
• Non-financial (in-kind) donations, including goods, materials, or services.

If you wish to make an in-kind contribution or offer a service, please contact us to discuss the nature of the donation.

2. Donation processing

We use trusted third-party payment processors to securely handle online donations. These services operate under their own privacy policies and terms of service. Please be aware that:

• These third parties are responsible for the secure handling of your personal and payment information;
• We recommend that donors review the relevant privacy policies before proceeding with any donation.

3. Recurring donations

If you set up a recurring donation (monthly or yearly) through a third-party service, the recurring payment agreement is managed entirely by that service. We cannot modify, pause, or cancel recurring donations on your behalf. To cancel or change a recurring donation, you must log in to your account on the platform you used to initiate the donation (e.g., PayPal) and manage it from there.

4. Donor information

We do not collect or store personal information of our donors. Any personal or payment details associated with your donation are:

• Handled solely by third-party processors or our bank;
• Accessed by us only via these third-party processors for administrative or acknowledgment purposes.

We may aggregate donor data in anonymised form for internal analysis and tax purposes. We do not sell, trade, or use donor information for marketing purposes.
